I have been at Transurban for nearly two years and I thought that every business just said they work to fast cycles, but here it actually happens.
In my time, we’ve delivered four or five mobile apps, cloud solutions, new websites and APIs as well as setting up multi-system, multi-asset data collection tools.
It’s an exciting time for Technology – the business is growing quickly and has a real appetite for change, and we’re now in a position to deliver new capability and functions much more quickly.

People don’t know just how big Transurban is on Technology- it’s the biggest function in the business. We control road safety using Big Data and many different payment systems. Then there is the customer-centric side of the business, building and running platforms to make it easier for people pay their bills or get in touch with the business.
The team are great too. People bring in their own experience of new tech and best practice which is a great addition on these big, exciting projects. It’s a fun culture and there’s a definite sense of belonging which helps when the workload gets a bit heavier. While there can be busy periods – it is a culture that demands your best – and the business is very good about fostering a work/life balance.
